Parks and Recreation

The city of Rhinelander Parks, Buildings & Grounds Department maintains and operates beautiful community parks. There are 3 main parks offering open green spaces to enjoy and a wide variety of recreational amenities. Hodag Park, along the shores of Boom Lake, has baseball/softball diamonds, a playground, fishing pier, and swimming beach. Pioneer Park houses the Logging and Railroad Museum Complex. West Side Park has many fun amenities including Hodag BMX, a BMX bike track and skate park. Recreational programming for the whole family is offered through the YMCA of the Northwoods.

Golf lovers will find two incredible facilities in Rhinelander. The Northwood Golf Club is an award winning, nationally recognized 18 hole course. The Rhinelander Country Club offers a 9 hole golf course to their members, along with other amenities.

Prekindergarten through 12th grade students are educated through the School District of Rhinelander. This district serves all the students within the city as well as nine surrounding communities. It consists of 3 elementary schools, a middle school, and a high school.
