Manitowish Waters is known for beautiful Northwoods living, cranberries and incredible vacations. Located in Northwestern Vilas County in the Northwoods of Wisconsin, it’s also home to a great Chain of Lakes.

This quiet, peaceful community has a smaller year-round population, but increases significantly during the summer months with second home owners, vacationers and other seasonal residents.

LIVING IN MANITOWISH WATERS

This town is best known for the Manitowish Waters Chain of Lakes which include:

These fantastic lakes provide year-round outdoor recreational activities; Fishing, Swimming, Boating, Water-Skiing and more. Manitowish Waters is also home to the Skiing Skeeters, a spectacular water skiing team that performs twice weekly during the summer months.
This quaint community is also an artists' enclave, with many wonderful artist studios and gift shops located in the town square.

 

Parks and Recreation

Manitowish Waters boasts 40 miles of paved bike trails, a 10 lake chain perfect for fishing and a plethora of water activities to keep residents entertained.  Some of the local favorites include:

North Lakeland Discovery Center - A 12-mile trail system to enjoy hiking, biking, skiing, snowshoeing and wildlife watching from dawn to dusk. The trails and terrain run alongside the lake, bog and nearby Manitowish River allowing you to experience gorgeous scenery and wildlife.

During the spring and summer months you can also experience canoeing, kayaking and swimming.

 

Manitowish Waters Bike Trail - The most popular bike trail connecting Manitowish Waters to Boulder Junction, Sayner and St. Germain. A 45 mile paved trail with beautiful scenery along the boardwalks and bridges.
